NYSS Freshman Trotters Hit Vernon

Freshman trotting colts make their annual stop at Vernon Downs on Thursday evening with two divisions raced for a little over $100,000 in total. Race Secretary Scott Warren has placed them on the card as races six and 10.

The sixth race fields eight colts, with The Lindy Treaty boasting the most impressive credentials to this point. The royally bred colt by Conway Hall has amassed nearly $55,000 in just three outings on the strength of two wins and a second for trainer/driver Ray Schnittker who owns him in part with The Lindy Treaty Stable.

Division two has seven entrants and the talent level is high.

Lukas Hall wins a NYSS at Tioga Downs
Driver Cat Manzi will have a difficult choice to make here, as both colts he steered to wins in the Tioga Downs leg two weeks ago have drawn in together. Credit Fashion (Credit Winner) led all the way from post nine and won by four lengths in 1:57.1 on that occasion. He is from the powerful Jim Campbell/Fashion Farms stable and has nearly $50,000 on his card after winning three of four career starts.

Lukas Hall rallied from well back to win in 1:56.3 for Cat in his last. He is a Conway Hall bred and owned in part by Jeff Gural's Little E, LLC with former New York Jet standout Wayne Chrebet. Kevin McDermott conditions the precocious colt who appears to be on the improve with each start.

Post time at Vernon is 6:45. Check the web for more pertinent facts.
