A DAY TO REMEMBER AT VERNON DOWNS

Fans were treated to the best harness racing has to offer this past Sunday afternoon at Vernon Downs.

Ron Pierce secured his second Drivers' Championship victory and $25,000 first place check by winning the last race of the contest with a 16-to-1 longshot.

Hambletonian winner Market Share smashed the track record in his Zweig Memorial Trot victory and super filly Check Me Out matched her own world record of 1:51.3 in the Zweig Filly.

The day to remember is chronicled on this week's episode of "Inside Harness Racing." The show airs today (Wednesday) at 6:00 PM and again at 10:30 PM on Time Warner Cable Sports throughout Upstate New York. It'll also be replayed tomorrow (Thursday) at 10:00 PM. Viewers can also watch this episode online at the Tioga Downs and Vernon Downs YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/tiogadowns).

This week's action also takes us to Tioga Downs where New York champion Heston Blue Chip captured the Cane Pace Elimination, setting up a much-awaited rematch with divisional leader A Rocknroll Dance in Monday's $322,000 Cane Pace Final.

Heston Blue Chip was fourth in A Rocknroll Dance's Meadowlands Pace victory. Driver Tim Tetrick tells viewers why Heston can turn the tables this time.
